We are officially 31 days out from the release of YOU WEREN’T MEANT TO BE HUMAN, and that means that my schedule is ramping up again. Let’s see what kinds of ground we have to cover.
EVENTS: I’ve updated my EVENTS PAGE. Some details haven’t been finalized, but I have eleven (or more) events between now and mid-October across Virginia, (possibly) West Virginia, NYC, Pennsylvania, Washington DC, and even online for those not close enough to see me in person. Please note which events require registration or limited seating, like the Sept 9 Launch Party in Chantilly.
PREORDERS: The Waterstones Exclusive edition of YWMTBH is available here. This is a version of the UK hardback with illustrated edges: look at those!
In addition, Bard’s Alley is offering signed and personalized preorders, as long as you submit your order by Sept 1st. Be careful when ordering that you select the correct option - shipping, or picking it up in person at the store in Vienna, VA, USA.
If you’re more interested in audio, Max Meyers has done an ASTOUNDING job with the audiobook. You can find a place to preorder it here.
EARLY REVIEW COPIES: YOU WEREN’T MEANT TO BE HUMAN is currently available for early review on Edelweiss, NetGalley US, and NetGalley UK. If you check it out on Edelweiss, you’ll see that we’ve received a Publishers Weekly star and an Indie Next designation for September. (Thank you, Elle, for the blurb!) The NetGalley editions close on Oct 9, so be sure to get your requests in.
OTHER: I’m currently on deadline for Book #5, aka my return to YA with Peachtree Teen. It’s my first contemporary novel with no speculative elements, and it’s my most character-driven work yet, but believe me when I say that this is still an incredibly unsettling psychological thriller featuring trans and disabled kids. I recently gave notes on the second draft of the HELL FOLLOWED WITH US movie script, turned 27, and bought my dream car after my 2011 Ford Focus gave up the ghost in June. Though what does it say about me that my dream car is a Toyota Corolla.
How does the personalization work for the ywmtbh preorder?
